You are also welcome to visit our office during normal business hours to fill out a form in person. You will be paid for your time at a training session and your work on Election Day.

Duties

Precinct election officials carry out federal and state law as interpreted by the Secretary of State and as refined through policies of the board of elections. As a result, there are specific rules and procedures that must be followed to ensure that elections are fair and that every voter is given his or constitutionality-protected opportunity to voice his or her opinions by voting on Election Day. These duties include receiving ballots and supplies, opening and closing the polls, overseeing the casting of the ballots during the time the polls are open, and any other duties required by law (R.C. 3501.22).

At each voting precinct there will be at least four precinct election officials. Each precinct in Ohio must have no more than half of its precinct election officials from the same political party.
